Patented Solar Lens® Dome

LED and CFL Lights

Light emitting diodes, commonly called LEDs, are real unsung heroes in the electronics world. They illuminate a variety of devices including digital clocks, Christmas lights, appliance and television screens, watches, and traffic lights. Basically, LEDs are just tiny light bulbs that fit easily into an electrical circuit. But unlike ordinary incandescent bulbs, they don’t have a filament that will burn out, and don’t get especially hot. Lit solely by the movement of electrons in a semiconductor material, they last significantly longer than CFL’s and traditional incandescent bulbs.

Lighting Controls

Buildings are expensive energy hogs using over 70% of all electricity according to the 2006 “Buildings Energy Data Book.” Lighting controls can reduce those energy costs significantly. The use of occupancy sensors alone in private offices and restrooms yields a 26% and 40% energy cost savings by turning off lights when rooms are unoccupied. Likewise, daylighting controls can further reduce energy consumption by switching or dimming electric lighting when sufficient daylight is present. Well designed lighting control not only reduces costs, but also preserves non-renewable resources used to create energy.

Miro wireless controls make for easy installation and seamless integration for both homes and buildings, using RF technology instead of costly control wiring.

The occupancy sensor plugs into the power strip with a telephone style connector and activates the “sensor controlled” receptacles whenever the space is occupied.  The sensor can be mounted underneath a desk using the self adhesive surface.  An adjustable time delay of 30 seconds to 30 minutes will keep the “sensor controlled” devices ON while the space is occupied or until the area is vacated and the time delay expires.  The devices will have power restored immediately upon returning to the work area.

Why are Plug Loads important?
